      LEARNING AIM(S)

      This course aims to equip you with good practice knowledge and skills in Medication Management for In-House Services.

       

      LEARNING OBJECTIVES

      By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

      • Demonstrate the ability to accurately read and interpret medication labels.
      • Accurately compare medication labels with the MAR/eMAR.
      • Verify that the size, type and dosage of Medication align with the information provided on the MAR/eMAR and medication labels.
      • Apply the 7 Rights of Administration to ensure safe practice.
      • Inspect medication packaging before disposal to prevent medication errors.
      • Identify potential stock shortages and follow appropriate procedures to prevent missed doses.
      • Understand the correct steps for administering medication safely and effectively.
      • Accurately document medication administration using the eMAR.
      • Maintain clear, accurate, and compliant records of all medication administered, in line with legal and organisational requirements.
      • Explain why medication should not be left in pots - identify the rare circumstances where exceptions may apply.
