How to Make - Cherry Flapjack

Cherry Flapjack

 

!Before you start wash and dry your hands, get out all the equipment and ingredients that you need.

Turn on oven to 180 c

Ingredients

Makes 8 portions

Butter 200g

Golden Syrup 150g

Demerara sugar 75g

Rolled porridge oats 450g

Cherries 150g

Method

1. Rub a little butter inside the base and edges of a metal tray.

2. Put a piece of baking paper in the tray and push down.

3. Put butter and golden syrup in a pan.

4. Put pan on the hob on a low heat.

5. While this is melting, put the porridge oats and sugar into a large mixing bowl.

6. Weigh cherries into a plastic container.

7. Cut cherries into small pieces, using a chopping knife and a chopping board.

8. Put the cherries into the mixing bowl.

9. Pour the hot mixture from the pan into the mixing bowl and mix everything together.

10. Put the mixture into the baking tray.

11. Use a fish slice to smooth.

12. Put in hot oven 180c and set the timer for 20 mins.

13. When flapjack is golden brown take out of the oven using oven gloves. Put the hot tray on a cooling rack.

14. When the flapjack is cool, cut into squares. It will keep for up to 3 days in an airtight container.

!Don't forget to wash up and put everything away.
