Butterfly Buns

 

 

Ingredients

  • Caster sugar
  • Butter
  • Eggs
  • Self-Raising Flour

Method

  • Wash hand/ dry well with paper towel. Apron on
  • Set oven to 170 or gas mark 5
  • Utensil used weighing scale, spoons and bun tins.
  • Weigh 4oz sugar and 6oz butter/margarine
  • 2 eggs crack into a bowl and slight whisk
  •  Cream together butter and sugar
  •  Weigh out 4oz Self raising flour
  •  Adds eggs to creamed sugar and butter
  • Adds flour to mixture, beat together well.
  • Place 12 cupcake cases in large hole tins
  •  Get 2 spoons and share mixture between bun cases.
  • Place buns in the oven for 20 minutes.
  •  Whilst waiting for them to cook place a cooling tray on the table.
  • Whilst buns are cooling prepare butter icing
  •  Mix together 4oz butter and 8oz icing sugar
  •  Once buns has cooled – cut top off and cut into 2. Place in a spoonful of butter icing and place the 2 pieces back on to form the butterfly bun.
  •  Place on a tray or plate and shake icing on them.
